Mile of Music

Mile of Music is a weekend long music festival that has been held along a one mile stretch of College Avenue in Appleton, WI every year since 2013. Over 200 artists perform 100% original music during the four day festival. All participating events are free. I was only able to attend on Friday night, but managed to see six different shows.
I have created a separate photo grid for each show below.
The Belle Weather at The Fox River House
Eric Cox has been writing songs and leading The Belle Weather for a long time. He's a good writer, a good musician, a total professional, a really nice guy, and puts everything he's got into his music and performances. The rest of the band has passion and skills to match and were really fun to listen to.

Holy Pinto at D2 Sports Bar
Being from Milwaukee, I'm embarrassed to say that I hadn't heard of Holy Pinto before seeing this set. My friends were playing after them and luckily I showed up early. They're an indie-pop band from Milwaukee (by way of England, from the sounds of it) who put on a great show. I listened to their latest record while editing these photos and it was good. Go listen to it!

White Dry Pages are a new rock and roll band from Milwaukee and, if you haven't guessed by the amount of their shows I've photographed and listed on the Live Music page of this website, are my good friends. They have some REALLY catchy tunes and put on a damn good show. Check them out if you get the chance, and bring earplugs!

Three Springs at D2 Sports Bar
Three Springs describes themselves as an indie rock-ish, at times slightly dancey, funky and experimental band out of Door County, Wisconsin. I think this is a fair assessment. I had the pleasure of seeing them play once before and really enjoy what they're doing. Their writing is solid and they are amazingly talented musicians. I very much enjoyed this show and will definitely go out of my way to see these guys play again!

Devils Teeth at Chadwicks
God Damn! It was surf. It was rock. It might have been a bit punk. It was like Man or Astroman? and the Misfits had a baby, and if you weren't one of the people jam packed into Chadwicks for this show on Friday night, you missed it! Devils Teeth brought 50 minutes of pure energy and I'm really sorry I wasn't around on Saturday night to see their second show.

Wild Adriatic at The Jones Park Main Stage
This show was at the end of the night and it was crowded! Being just a regular guy without a press pass means that I needed to fight the crowd to get close enough to get any photos. That, coupled with the fact that I was tired and hungry means that I only got a few photos of Wild Adriatic.
